FAQ

Is this condo owner managed, or managed by a second party?

We manage the condo ourselves.  We believe this works out best for both you the visitor, and us, the owners.  We are able to keep our rental rates low because we self manage.  We are able to respond to your requests immediately, and are available to answer questions.  We care about our visitors and will take the time to answer your questions about the area.  No offense to property managers, but our experience has been that no one cares about their property as much as the individual owner.

Do you accept credit cards? How do I formalize a reservation?

We are not set up to accept credit cards, and can offer less expensive rental rates for this reason.  To confirm a reservation, we ask for a deposit of 1/2 of the rental, with the balance due prior to arrival.

What is provided in the condo?

We provide you with all the linens and towels you will need for your stay with us.  You will also find the condo supplied with paper goods, and some basic cleaning supplies as well.  We have starter supplies of bath soap and shampoo as well.  You will need to bring your own food and drink.  There are grocery outlets in Big Sky, though these are rather small, and limited in scope.  Most of our guests stop in Bozeman before coming up to Big Sky and stock up on the "necessities" as they may require.

How far is the ski slope? Cross country trails?

The ski slopes at Lone Mountain, and Moonlight Basin are located up the main road of Big Sky approximately 4 miles from the condo..  Most people drive up to the mountain to ski.  Parking is usually not a problem.  There is a "Snow Shuttle" that stops near to the condo which you can take up to the Mountain.  Its schedule is regular and can be given to you.

The groomed Nordic trails of Lone Mountain Ranch are within a minute or two drive from the condo.  Some of the trails are within walking distance of the condo.

How far to the Village areas?

The main commercial area of Big Sky consists of the Meadow Village area and the new Town Center area, both of which you will pass as you come to the condo from the Canyon highway from Bozeman.

These areas are only a mile or so from the condo by car.  In the Meadow Village and Town Center areas, you will find grocery stores, restaurants, shops, a clinic, outfitters, ski rental shops, banks, the post office.  Almost everything you need is close at hand, yet not underfoot with traffic and hubbub.

We have stayed in many ski condos and this was one of our best experiences. This condo comes with a "concierge"! The owner, who lives close by, was very attentive to our needs, meeting us as we arrived, giving advice on discount ski tickets and checking in on how we were doing. The condo has a great back deck w/ hot tub that overlooks a pine forest and mountains. The floor plan is well designed, nicely decorated and we found the kitchen to be particularly well equipped. If you are thinking about skiing at Big Sky this is a good location. The condo is a short drive to the base, where there is free parking and a funky shuttle to the lifts. Big Sky does not really have much development right at the base and we found that this condo is closer to a wide selection of restaurants and a tiny but amazingly well stocked food market.  Nychka Family, April 2009

What a great place to stay in Big Sky! The condo was perfect and in just the right location. Big Sky ski area and Lone Mountain Ranch are 8 minutes away. Yellowstone Park is 45 minutes away. The condo had great beds, a complete kitchen, a nice hot tub, and great owners to work with. We stayed a month and plan to stay there again next year. You should definitely look at this condo if looking for a great place to stay in Big Sky!  Keller Family, March 2009

What a wonderful vacation home! A real home from home in the mountains. Every comfort immaginable, super comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen and easy access to downhill and cross country trails. Even better, a hot tub to come to after a long day on the slopes. The hosts were friendly and went out of their way to satisfy even the most trivial request. We would certainly stay here again.  Ross Family, January 2009
